Christmas Cookies

This was my first year to decorate sugar cookies for customers, but I had a lot of fun and learning through the process. I'm anxious already for next year so I can try some new tricks I learned in a cookie book!

Choo Choo!!!

For my son's 2nd birthday, I made him a train cake to match his train table gift! Ha! And no, it's NOT the Williams-Sonoma cake pan. For the record, I shaped every single detail of each one of the cars! Phew!

Since I believe in networking, I wanted to share this cool website with you all! Enjoy!

Cupcakes for a 60th Birthday

Each cupcake had its own personality, mostly. Can you tell the party's color scheme?

A Couple of Birthdays!

Happy Birthday to sweet Anna!
Jacob turned 30, and I couldn't help myself but to be ornery and point out (literally) that he's older than me!

Happy Birthday Dear Jackson! 3D truck cake

This checkerboard is made entirely from fondant, as are the three truck bases and the red ribbon. The truck is 3d sculpted from cake, and the dumping part of the truck is filled with cotton candy and it's all edible! The other two smaller ones were bought and stacked on top later.

Ordination Cake

This was quite a fun cake to be a part of, though it's the most random cake I think I've ever done! Caleb was ordained into the ministry, and we had to make a cake that wasn't too formal, like a wedding cake. We threw in some randomly themed tiers to keep it interesting. The cross was made from chocolate fondant, and dusted in gold pearl dust, making the top of the cake BEAUTIFUL with brown icing and the gold on top.
Though it's hard to see, there are fleur de lis in chocolate buttercream on the top tier. Both chocolate tiers are chocolate cake with chocolate icing! Yum! The white tiers are strawberry cake underneath, and traditional buttercream icing. You'll note in the above picture, an edible image! Caleb and Amie got to be on a cookie! How special!
These are the fondant creations for the "random" tiers: the sports tier (hockey sticks) and the BBQ tier. Can you pick out the hamburger with lettuce, the hamburger with American cheese, the two tiny ears of corn, and the t-bone steak? Fun!!!

Some New Tasty Treats!

This was a launch of the baby shower ministry at church.....and my first boy shower cake!
After a cake crisis, I took the strawberry scraps and made a trifle! It was scrumptious!

Thick icing, indeed!

I wanted to show how thick the icing is, so I took this picture after cutting into the "wedding" looking cake.

Logo Cakes!!!

I wrapped up my Bible Study Fellowship year with a cake. I made diamond impressions, which ended up making it look remarkably similar to a wedding cake!
I did two cakes for one family the same weekend of their graduations. One was a KU graduation, the other was Rose Hill High School and the logo transitioned from RH to WSU as he'll be a shocker in the fall. They were full of adventure indeed! :-) One slid into the side of my transport box! We managed to redeem it overall. Thank goodness for thick frosting!

She was president of a sorority, so that's why there are Kappa Deltas all over the side!

Busy Weekend!

I foolishly double booked myself, but thought I'd show you the end results ;-)
The soccer ball cake was for a guy, and the tiered cake was for a girl. I did the boy cake, and a fancy high end bakery did the tiered cake. Oh, and the cookies I made are behind his cake.

The cupcake trees turned out beautifully!
Soccer balls were to match the cake. These cookies were 1/4 inch thick and were cooked to perfection.
The cupcakes were numbered at about 150.

Yes, this soccer ball is real cake. It's entirely edible.

Last of the old cakes ;-)

I forgot to add this one! The cake similar to this one, which has the springy colors on top, was inspired by this cake! This is wrapped in fondant and has fondant balls around both bases.
